Q: Is your water really from a spring? I have heard that some companies just bottle tap water and say it is spring water.
A: Our water really is from a spring. CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™
actually locates the perfect spring source first, and then builds our
bottling plant there. Our plants are built at the spring sources near
Olancha Peak, in the Sierra Nevada; near Mt. Shasta in Weed, California;
near the mountains in the Cherokee National Forest in Benton, Tennessee the
Blue Ridge Mountains in Salem, South Carolina, the Ossipee Mountains of
Moultonborough, New Hampshire and the Ouachita Mountain range of Black
Springs Arkansas.
Q: Can you send me a complete analysis of your spring water?
A: CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™is tested for hundreds of different constituents, and we meet the standards of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, all individual state standards, as well as standards of the World Health Organization, the European Union, and the Japanese Ministry of Health. We are licensed annually, and regularly inspected by state officials. Please forward your mailing address to us, and we will be happy to send you an analysis of our spring water. Send us an email or call our toll free number, 1-800-4-GEYSER, and speak to one of our Customer Service Representatives.
Q: How long can I store my CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™?
A: CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ can be easily and safely stored for several years; however, we realize that storage conditions vary greatly. Our spring water is best stored in a cool, odor-free and dry environment, and should be stored away from non-food products.
Q: What are your bottles made of?
A: Our bottles are made from 100% recyclable PET (polyethylene terepthalate). This is the most recyclable of all plastics, and is widely used for beverage containers around the world.
Q: Do you add fluoride to your water?
A: No, we do not. We do have a small amount of naturally occurring fluoride, which ranges from 0 to 0.7 parts per million.
Q: Can I buy stock in your company?
A: Our Company is privately owned. We do not offer stock to the public at this time.
Q: Does CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ use a 1 Micron filter?
A: We utilize Absolute Filtration, a filtration method that the bottled water industry recognizes as an indicator of water purity. An Absolute-rated filter removes 100% of all particles of a given size. Filters are usually rated in microns, according to the size of particles that a filter will remove. A micron is one one thousandth of a millimeter. A 1 micron Absolute filter will remove 100% of all particles that are 1 micron (or larger) in size. Many spring waters are produced using 1 micron absolute filters. At CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™, we exceed this standard by using 0.1 micron absolute filters. This unique, advanced absolute filtration technology effectively removes 100% of all particles 10 times smaller than the 1 micron industry standard for filtration. So, in answer to this question, we use a filter ten times smaller than an absolute 1 micron filter, and to our knowledge, no other bottler in the United States filters to this level of purity.
Q: How is spring water different from tap water?
A: Tap water is also known as municipal or city water. This is the drinking water supplied by public utilities and it may be obtained from a variety of sources including reservoirs, streams, wells or lakes. It rarely comes from an actual spring. Municipal water is commonly chlorinated and filtered extensively for sanitation purposes.
Currently the U.S. Food and Drug Administration is considering legislation to require that any bottled water that is made from tap water be labeled as being "from a municipal source". This is designed to protect consumers so that they would be certain as to the source of the bottled water they are buying. There have unfortunately been a few cases in the industry where water marketed as being from a natural glacier or spring source, has been in fact tap water. Q: How is spring water different from purified water?
A: The Total Dissolved Solids, or TDS, listed by many spring water manufacturers on their labels, provides information as to the levels of some minerals present in the water. TDS levels vary among all waters. Distillation and Reverse Osmosis (RO) are two processes used to prepare purified water. Purified water is defined by strict standards detailed in the United States Pharmacopoeia (USP 21st revision). Purified water is usually used by the pharmaceutical industry and by other specialized industries that require water from which all naturally occurring trace minerals and other constituents have been removed. Purified water, distilled water and water processed by reverse osmosis, are almost always from a municipal source. They are not necessarily desirable as drinking water - as the natural minerals have been removed. These trace minerals provide nutrition and a pleasing taste profile to the water. Highly processed waters, by definition, contain fewer Total Dissolved Solids than natural spring waters. TDS is not an indicator of water purity except in a very general sense. CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ contains an ideal profile of naturally occurring minerals which provide an excellent quality water and an outstanding taste to the consumer.
Q: How pure is your water?
A: The purity of CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ is guaranteed by numerous factors:
Our spring water is obtained from protected natural spring sources.
Water from our protected source is monitored constantly to detect any minute changes in the microbiological, chemical or physical characteristics of the water to insure that the initial purity remains unchanged.
Our spring water is bottled at the source, eliminating the risk of potential contamination that can occur during bulk transport of the water. Our bottling facilities manufacture our own supply of PET bottles on site.
In compliance with regulations, ozone is used at our bottling facility to avoid the use of chemical sterilization. Ozonation is a process of injecting water with ozone gas. This process guarantees sanitation and is just another step CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ takes to insure the purity of our product.
CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ uses a 0.1 micron absolute filter, a filter ten times smaller than industry standard.
CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ meets or exceeds all of the United States Food and Drug Administration standards for bottled water. The states of California and Tennessee each issue licenses to CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ to bottle our spring water, based on the results of independent laboratory analysis of over 100 organic and nonorganic constituents, and certify our sources as springs.
CRYSTAL GEYSER ® ALPINE SPRING WATER ™ was the first brand of water bottled in the United States to meet the standards of the European Union. Our product is also exported to Japan, and is one of the leading brands sold there under strict regulation of the Japanese Ministry of Health.
