We have a natural connection with organizations that work to keep the environment clean. We actively work with a wide range of national and local groups dedicated to preserving the health of the land, air and water.
We are proud to sponsor the reforestation efforts of American Forests. Founded in 1875, it’s the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens conservation organization and a world leader in planting trees for environmental restoration. Since 1990, American Forests has planted close to 20 million trees in ecosystem restoration projects across the United States and around the world. The planting sites are areas that desperately need trees because they have been damaged by wildfire or other causes.
Partnering with American Forests, we have planted 50,000 trees each year since 2001, for a grand total of more than 700,000 trees since we started. These native trees provide important environmental benefits such as cleaning the water we drink and the air we breathe, as well as absorbing carbon dioxide, a leading cause of global climate change. An acre of forest can absorb more than 180 tons of carbon dioxide in it first 40 years, and trees planted in urban areas help reduce heating and cooling costs. From salmon to salamanders, bears to bald eagles, life-sustaining trees are the habitat for a wide range of wildlife, including threatened and endangered species. Of course, in addition to the environmental benefits, trees create beautiful vistas and recreational opportunities for generations to come.
Crystal Geyser® Alpine Spring Water® also donates thousands of bottles of its product to keep American Forests’ volunteers hydrated during tree planting projects. You can learn more about the tree planting efforts of American Forests by visiting americanforests.org
Crystal Geyser® Alpine Spring Water® is a proud sponsor of the California Coastal Commission California Coastal Cleanup Day, the country's premier volunteer event focused on the marine environment. In 2015, more than 68,000 volunteers worked together to collect more than 1.1 million pounds of trash and recyclables from California's beaches, lakes, and waterways. It was the largest cleanup to date, covering over 900 sites in 54 counties. In addition, almost half of the volunteers brought their own reusable bags. Since the BYO bag program started in 2011, the Commission has produced 150,000 fewer trash bags.
The effort coordinates with the Ocean Conservancy's International Coastal Cleanup, creating one of the largest, most productive volunteer events every year. Since the Coastal Cleanup’s inaugural year of 1985 saw over 2,500 people take the first step in cleaning our beaches and waterways, it has grown to more than 1.3 million volunteers removing over 22 million pounds of debris from the state's coast, shorelines and waterways.
Crystal Geyser® Alpine Spring Water® is the official water for the MS walks in California, Florida and New York. For too long, 400,000+ Americans and their families have suffered the devastating effects of MS. But with annual participation of over 200,000 people raising more than $50 million a year, together we have brought the world one giant step closer to a cure.
